Paris, Paris – yes, indeed – it is beautiful! However, is there anything more exciting than the worldwide known capital of love and romance – yes, there is! It is lingerie in Paris and the most important trade show in Europe – Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris.
We are so happy we could have visited this exhibition this year. Every year in January – 3 busy days of meetings, shows and conferences. New trends and designs, presented by the best brands and manufacturers.
Like previous editions of Salon International de la Lingerie, also this year – strong presence of Polish brands. We have visited stands of Obsessive, Axami, Mat, Tessoro, Kinga, Gorteks, Gabriella and Gracya. By the way – going to Paris is the best opportunity (probably the easiest as well) for us to meet many of our suppliers in one place. We could discuss with our partners and see their latest collections – new products soon in our offer.
Of course we haven’t limited ourselves to Polish manufacturers only as we are always very opened for new products and trends. French and Italian lingerie – breathtaking – no point to describe it – the best way would be to show the photos. However only journalist are allowed to make them and we must confess that organizers and exhibition staff are very strict about following this rule – unfortunately.
This year the strong emphasis was placed on hosiery and erotic lingerie products. Except mentioned above Gabriella there was another stand of Polish tights and pantyhose manufacturer – Adrian – we hope to start the cooperation shortly.
It is also worth mentioning a new offer of Shirley of Hollywood and very seductive products of FeverCollection.
We can’t wait for the next year edition. In next articles we will tell more about upcoming trends and hope to see more photos from Paris.
Upcoming week we will witness the next edition of Salon Internation de la Lingerie trade show and Interfiliere, its partner event dedicated to fabrics and lingerie accessories. After the last year celebration of the event’s round fiftieth anniversary, abounding in additional events and attractions, it is time to return to the roots and concentrate on what is most important: the lingerie. Effectively, it is for the lingerie that the Port de Versailles gate is to be crossed by up to 15.000 visitors from the entire world.
Once again, 500 underwear and homewear brands will present their collections, among them the brands with long-standing tradition, such as Anita, Axami, Felina, Lise Charmel or Lejaby, on which the whole event is founded. The promotion of yound designers is another goal of the event. In a separate zone, they will present their original, limited collections made for sale in exclusive boutiques searching for something more than mass production. It is a perfect place for young and ambitious designers wishing to become known in the trade and find their first customers.
This trade show, when compared with Mode City trade show in July, has a more noticeable Polish accent. Apart from regular trade show visitors, such as Axami, Ava, Kinga, Mat, Gorteks, Gracya, Gaia, Gabriella, other companies like Obsessive wishing to promote themselves on western European markets.
The organizers themselves admit that during the following edition one of the strongest accent will be put on hosiery products, arousing more and more interest. Another strong accent will be put on men’s underwear which, after many years of staying in the shadow of lingerie, came out of hiding to have its own, separate section.
This time the trends (one of the reasons why everyone connected with the trade come in crowds to Paris) will be presented inside a real-size lingerie boutique. Exhibitors and visitors will have the opportunity to take a look on the propositions for winter 2014/2015 as well as draw inspiration from the latest ideas on sales, window dressing and the products themselves.
There will also be some differences concerning the shows. Two different shows are to be performed twice a day and additionally by the end of each day the Selection show presenting the most interesting propositions of exhibitors for winter 2014/2015 will be also performed.
Moreover, Salon de la Lingerie offers the most interesting conferences. The schedule will include a presentation of the trends proposed by the greatest trend houses such as Promostyl or Nelly Rodi. The trade experts will suggest some ideas on the brand development on new interesting markets and share their experience concerning introduction of innovative products.
Even though Paris is enchanting when covered in snow – we hope that this winter will be mild and everyone interested in the event will be able to appear and see the most important lingerie trade show in Europe.
As usually we visited Polish Fashion Week. It was the 9th edition of this event organized in Lodz – the most fashion industrial city in Poland.
I think I understand now why Pinterest pays so much attention to the Fashion Weeks events. In one place you can find fashion designers, photographers, fashion journalists, bloggers, models and what is most important lots, lots of fashion design and products. You could make thousands of photos and all of them would be repined immediately. Everything what is most important for Pinterest – just its pure essence.
It would be pointless to compare Polish Fashion Week to the biggest events from New York, London, Paris or Milan, as those cities attract the most popular designers in the world. Fashion Week Lodz is for local designers rather. However, Pinterest should take into consideration being present at smaller fashion shows as well. It is a very good opportunity to make it popular (I mean Pinterest) on local markets. Especially if it is a country of 40 million people, where social media are very popular and e-commerce sector is one of the highest developed in Europe.
Unfortunately, the Pinterest awareness among Poles is not yet as high as it could be. I talked to the most influential Polish fashion bloggers and I was a bit surprised. Of course they have heard about Pinterest but they don’t use it yet. It seems to be kind of a mystery to them or they prefer Instagram.
MODE CITY PARIS 2013 – Salon International de la Lingerie et du Swimwear
Mode City is organized by Eurovet and every year it takes place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris. It is without any doubt one of the most important events related to the apparel and clothing sector in France. This year, the event was held between 06 July 2013 and 08 July 2013. Visitors from all over the world could admire intimates and beachwear trends for Spring-Summer 2014.
Mode City is considered much more than just a traditional trade show. This international fair for lingerie and swimwear brands is the meeting point of the whole industry people. It is a sophisticated, exclusive environment filled with the aura of elegance and luxury. The largest leading international brands and latest trends find new agents, importers, retailers and trade buyers there.
In our opinion it is very important to show up at such events regularly.
Here are some reasons why:
– it is very important to be an active part of intimates, beachwear and wellbeing family and take a part in building this specific community
– to be an active part also means: to play an active role in the whole industry
– it brings together all the important key players of the market – this means that you will meet all the most important lingerie and swimwear fashion people in Paris Salon International de la Lingerie et du Swimwear
– Mode City has got 30 years of tradition, so you can be sure to find products of 100% reliable and innovative suppliers only
– on the other hand, it is still possible to discover some new brands and future talents. That means you will develop yourself in the sector – and this is important because you always want to look out for the new directions!
– besides meeting your suppliers and getting your presence noticed, the most important, however so obvious – being a participant of the fair you can discover the latest trends and focus on future sourcing directions
As you can see there are plenty of advantages to be a guest of the fair. This year (in this exclusive environment of the largest leading international brands and new brands coming together where visitors could inform themselves in detail and comprehensively about the latest trends and products) also Polish representatives could be found. Our country and its lingerie market was represented by a famous Polish hosiery expert – Gabriella. This manufacturer’s products are also, of course, presented at Lingerose.com. More about Gabriella’s fashion you can read soon.
There are several well-known fashion events in Poland (Warsaw Fashion Street, Sopot Fashion Days, Warsaw Fashion Weekend, Poznan International Fair, Wroclaw Fashion Meeting) but: FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland is certainly the most important one. Held twice a year in Lodz, it attracts the best designers, fashion experts, special guests and many representatives of Polish and international media.
This year April edition was the eighth one in the history of Fashion Week Poland (from 2009). It took place between 17th and 21st of April, 2013. Lingerose.com decided to take part in this fashion festival and appear in Lodz in person. So now we can tell you all about it personally. Enjoy!
Fashion Week Poland 2013 at Fashion TV
“Lodz City of Fashion”
As the FashionPhilosophy crew members say – Lodz is more and more fashionable nowadays. Tied to fashion industry for over a century, once an exclusive place for factories and heavy textile industries, now changes very fast. Twice a year the fashion capital of Poland, we can say that Lodz becomes the fashionable direction. And FashionPhilosophy itself is a great inspiration for the city to develop, bloom and give new opportunities to grow and create new trends.
On our way to Lodz we decided to drop into and visit one of the most famous manufacturers presented at Lingerose.com – Gatta. Its house is located close to that industrial area.
“Ladies and gentlemen…
…please take your seats now, this is FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland” – that intro was repeated before every show which took place in Lodz during those four exciting days. Of course, we are talking about “Designer Avenue” here – that is the most desirable place to be during the whole event. On the very long catwalk all the best collections for next seasons are always presented there.
During this edition we could admire trends for fall/winter 2013-2014 of such well-known Polish designers as Łukasz Jemioł, Berenika Czarnota, Tomasz Olejniczak, Natalia Jaroszewska, Wiola Wołczyńska, Kamila Gawrońska-Kasperska and many, many more. There were also special quests from abroad invited: Yulija Hilevich for Fur Garden, Slava Zaitsev, Marta Wachholz – Biczuja, Rokosolana Bogutska. As for the famous brands, there were among the others: Mohito and Orsay – which was also the main sponsor of the event.
Every hour perfectly prepared shows on the main catwalk invited guests inside Designer Avenue. That was without any doubt the essence of Fashion Week Poland. However it was not the only attraction. The other scene – “OFF Out Of Schedule” – was dedicated to avant-garde and intriguing collections of young, adventurous designers.
Let Them Know – Concept Store – Showroom
The ideal complementation of Designer Avenue and OFF Out Of Schedule was another pavilion dedicated to passion for fashion – a big hall with Showroom and Concept Store. Several hundred square meters of clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry from the latest collections of independent designers and brands at our fingertips… Heaven for all fashion freaks. 😉 So you could not only check or buy some exceptionally original and unique pieces of Polish fashion in Showroom, but also learn more about the philosophy of each brand presented in Concept Store. As if that was not enough for some aesthetic senses, at the end of the hall there was an exhibition of young and talented fashion photographers, called simply: “Young Fashion Photographers Now”.
“Let Them Know” – the last attraction of FashionPhilosophy to describe, was a series of annual lectures, seminars and professional training for designers, manufacturers, owners of clothing companies and marketing professionals. This edition’s schedule consisted of lectures on social media, technologies, fashion photography in press, problems facing the industry and of course the latest trends – S/S 2014!
Lingerie at Fashion Week Poland
Wandering along the alleys of the Concept Store, we were more than happy to discover the stall of our familiar lingerie producer there. Presented at Lingerose.com, KrisLine is a manufacturer of luxurious lingerie designed for ladies of every group age or size. You can find some sensual body corsets, plus size bras, comfortable and elegant panties or even men’s tops in the offer of KrisLine Lingerie at our site.
Summing Up
Over 12 thousand guests from Poland and abroad. More than 47 fashion shows (including 35 in Designer Avenue and 13 in the zone of debuts and avant-garde –OFF Out Of Schedule). 30 thousand online followers of the shows. Beautiful, young and fresh or well-known top models. Celebrities – actors and actresses, singers, dancers and most famous fashion bloggers. All the most important fashion media from Poland and abroad (700 entries for media delegates!). Buyers and sales portals representatives. Fashion experts and fashion freaks at FashionPhilosophy.
Winter scenery outside and beautiful models inside of four fashion pavilions but the most important – over 464 companies and brands from 17 countries. Those were the attractions waiting for visitors of the International Fashion Fair held in Poznan between 19-th and 21-st of February, 2013.
Once again we could meet experts ready to share their knowledge and experience in a fashion business. During these three exciting days many lectures and seminars took place (i.e. marketing, sales techniques, social media power).
As far as the exhibition was concerned, it consisted of four stages:
NEXT SEASON Exhibition of Clothing and Accessories – Fall-Winter 2013/2014
FAST FASHION Exhibition of Clothing and Accessories – Spring-Summer 2013
BTS Exhibition of Shoes and Leather Goods
TEX-STYLE Exhibition of Clothing Industry Components
It was visited by a total amount of 5,538 clothing and leather industry sector representatives. The most important for us – obviously the lingerie market.
Looking for some similarities between this year and the previous fair edition, we have to mention – once again – an impressive amount of the exclusive lingerie Italian producers. What is new this year – we have gladly noticed the presence of some manufacturers form England. Besides, as spring-time is generally better for the lingerie fashion market, we could observe spring has come at least to the exhibition if not the city of Poznan.
One more time we have exchanged some opinions with the foreign distributors of lingerie. After numerous friendly discussions with them we have observed an ‘interesting’ tendency of theirs. Italian wholesalers do not like and avoid selling their products online. This is nothing new as far as Italians are concerned and honestly, for us as a potential competitor, it is actually even better. Of course, it seems to be this way because of both: laziness and ignorance of those suppliers. The superiority of the online wholesale business over the physical one is unquestionable and we will describe it in our articles in near future.
What is more, Lingerose.com has one another thing to be proud of. Every year during the International Fashion Fair in Poznan there is held the ceremony of the most remarkable Polish business awards – the MTP Gold Medals. These are awarded to highly innovative products of the highest quality. This year, during the official prize giving ceremony, one of the manufacturers that products we sell was awarded – famous for its laser cut lingerie – Cotonella.
As always, we are very glad and satisfied to be a participant of Poznan Fashion Fair – filled with loads of positive energy and with our heads full of inspirations and great experience we could come back home and look forward to the incoming trends.
50 years of experience – followed by expertise, partnerships of real connoisseurs, raw elegance and atmosphere of creation in the air. The aura of passion and glorification of the female beauty. Extravagance filled with the presence of living legends or new faces and young divas. All combined together in the romantic, almost magical, Winter scenery of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Every year at the same time the trade show maintains its specific character of tradition and innovation, but this year it was not only the annual fair, but also – its 50-th birthday edition! From 1963 to 2013 Salon International de la Lingerie has become a distinguishing feast of fashion and this special birthday edition was no exception.
Held in Paris – the capital of international fashion market – between 19-th and 21-st of January 2013. Numerous fashion shows, selection guides, conferences and help of personal shoppers. Latest trends for season fall – winter 2013/2014. A fairy tale universe filled with luminous touch and a combination of ice, frost, snow – full of a pearly beauty. To quote the founders of this astonishing event – it is more than just a trade show, it is an emotion… A place where dreams of visitors and brands come true – just a fashion fantasy.
This extraordinary January fashion fair consists of the following creative zones:
– The Essentials – key lingerie and corsetry brands
– Cocooning – homewear, loungewear and sleepwear for staying in
– Designer Labels – luxury and designer collections
– Limited Edition – young nightwear and homewear designers
In those specific ‘fashion universes’, located in different sections, brands from all over the world meet their future clients and the most famous lingerie wholesalers, producers, distributors and manufacturers launch and promote the newest fashion trends and meet the needs of their customers in person.
Lingerose.com is so proud to find in this international fashion environment as many as 10 producers whose lingerie has been presented on our website. Those are as follows:
Each of those brands deserves a closer insight to their stocks – to read more about the products please follow our subsequent articles. Back to topic of Salon International de la Lingerie – we can proudly assure our costumers, that the incoming season will be rich in demand for the products presented in French capital of fashion.
We have participated in Fashion Fair that took place between 11th and 13th of September in Poznan, Poland. Just a quick reminder for those who may not know – Poznan is the one of the four Polish cities that have organized Euro 2012.
During this edition of Poznan Fashion Fair, all visitors could familiarize themselves among others with expert forecasts concerning the trends in apparel, textile and footwear sectors. There were discussions about Internet marketing, new sales techniques and legal matters related to retail trade.
Fashion Fair consisted of three exhibitions:
Exhibition of Clothing, Lingerie and Accessories
– collections for spring-summer 2013
FAST FASHION
– collections for fall-winter 2012/2013 Exhibition
BTS Exhibition of Shoes, Leather and Leather Goods
There were more than 200 different manufacturers from Europe, India and China.
Most well-known brands like s’Oliver, Wrangler, Desigual have participated.
Obviously many Polish manufacturers were also present at the Fair.
We have met an Italian manufacturer of the best quality nightdresses made of silk and cotton.
Other Italian stands were also full of stunning and unique design. All exposed by smaller manufacturers that make products of the highest quality. All of them assured me that their products are made in Italy but one of them confessed honestly that they make it in Bulgaria. The longer I talked to the others the more suspicious I got. Anyway, all the products had labels “made in Italy” and they looked really good – with perfect finish.
I talked to almost all of Italian exhibitors and have noticed they were a little tired and disappointed. They had excellent products but unfortunately a bit too expensive for the Polish market nowadays. On the other hand the Polish manufacturers seemed to be very glad and enthusiastic, even during the third day of the Fair. As the global crisis tends to be over soon, we all have better views for the nearest future at the lingerie market. Just can’t wait for the next edition of Poznan International Fashion Fair in February 2013!
MODE CITY PARIS 2012 – Salon International de la Lingerie et du Swimwear
Mode City is the most popular European fair of lingerie market. The event takes place in the international capital of fashion, chic and style – Paris. Since 2011 the summer edition of the fairs has been rescheduled from early autumn to the actual summertime and this year it was held between 7-th and 9-th of July. Lingerie, swimwear and hosiery trends for season spring-summer 2013 were presented there. At the same time, another fashion fair took place – Interfiliere Paris – where materials and underwear production accessories were exposed.
At the Mode City Paris 2012 the whole elite of lingerie fashion industry appeared. That included about 15 thousand people: top designers, famous producers, big distributors and of course retailers. All in all you could admire above 430 brands from all over the world. Most visitors were of course French but it is worth mentioning that 73% people there came from all over the world, e.g. Italy, Germany, the UK, Hongkong, Spain, Russia, the USA, China and Japan. There were even some visitors from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Oceania. The three days long fashion event was reported by many international media – tv, radio and of course press.
The strong group of expositors consisted of Polish producers and manufacturers – many of them you can find at Lingerose.com. The products of: AVA, AXAMI, GAIA, GORTEKS, GRACYA, KINGA, KOSTAR, MAT were presented at the fair and the hosiery expert – GABRIELLA was also present. Those manufacturers had already been the participants of Paris fashion fair, but in this edition they have conquered the major catwalk for the first time. All of the brands have presented their collections for spring/summer season 2013. The most popular was female lingerie, but also some manly underwear was shown.
Kinga Lingerie at Mode City 2012
Polish designers traditionally attracted visitors not only with their high quality products, but also with some original ideas for their stands’ expositions. For example Gracya showed some national Polish colors in the exhibition (last year it was inspired by unique baroque costumes) and Axami created stewardess outfits for their hostesses. The visitors were touched by cooperation of seemingly competing companies from Poland. The demand for our national products is constantly growing so each presence at such an event is very important for the brands. As it turns out – many clients has remembered those manufacturers from fashion fair in 2011 and they were very happy to see them again.
